5 SECRETS TO GETTING DINNER ON THE TABLE...FAST!
For the crust:
- graham cracker crumbs – You can use another type of cracker here if you prefer. Vanilla wafers are a good choice, but you can also switch things up and use different flavors of OREO cookies if you want to be really adventurous.
- melted butter – if you wish to use unsalted butter, add ¼ teaspoon of salt.
- light brown sugar – granulated sugar can be used instead.
For the filling:
- sweetened condensed milk – you will need one can.
- cream cheese – make sure the cream cheese has softened at room temperature for at least 15 minutes.
- crushed pineapple – one of the elements of a classic banana split.
- lemon juice – you can even use lime juice if you prefer.
- bananas – you will need about 2 to 3 medium to large bananas.
- whipped topping – you will need about one 8 ounce container. Or use homemade whipped cream instead. See notes in the recipe card below.
Toppings:

Variations To Try
Just like you can add whatever toppings you want to a real banana split, you can add whatever you want to this dessert.
For example, I would add some raspberries or blueberries to this, or some Reese’s crumbles to the top. I’d also try caramel syrup or even butterscotch instead of chocolate on the top.
Some people enjoy toppings such as sprinkles, cookie crumbles, little candies, or popping boba pearls. Or, add some actual ice cream! Just make sure you enjoy every bite!
